Weekend Tour - Racha Region, Caves and Canyons


Our guests will relax at weekends in our hotel complex - Tskaltubo Epic Hotel and Spa. At the same time they will visit the beautiful mountainous region - Racha and travel to the caves and canyons of Imereti.

Accommodation in the hotel.

Visit the Prometheus Wine Museum. Visiting exhibits related to the history and culture of Georgian wine. Tasting two types of Georgian wine from Kvevri - a large earthenware vessel used for the fermentation, storage and ageing of traditional Georgian wine.

Dinner.

Day 2 - Mountainous region Racha.

Breakfast.

We will travel to one of the most beautiful mountainous regions of Georgia - Racha.

Visiting Tskhrajvari mountain. Tskhrajvari is located at an altitude of 1500 meters above sea level. This is a beautiful 3 km. medium difficulty trail. When climbing Tskhrajvari we will turn above the clouds and in case of good weather we will have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful views of western Georgia/

Visiting Shaori Lake. The Lake is surrounded by forests and mountains, making it an attractive sight to see at any time of the year.

Nikortsminda Cathedral is a masterpiece of Georgian architecture. Built in the early 11th century, 1010-1014. This is the period when great attention was paid to the decorative decoration of the facades. In this regard, the decor of Nikortsminda is an achievement of Georgian monumental architecture.

Lunch.

Visit to Barakoni Church - one of the last important monuments of old Georgian domed architecture in Racha.

Departure in the direction of Oni. Oni is a small town in Upper Racha. Here we will visit the Ethnographic Museum. Unique exhibits from the Stone Age to the late feudal era are preserved here. Most of the exhibits belong to the Bronze Age.

Return to the hotel.

Dinner at the hotel restaurant.

Day 3 - Prometheus Cave and Martvili Canyon

Breakfast.

Prometheus Cave is the largest karst cave in Georgia.Visitors will be enchanted by the mysterious underground landscapes of the cave. Stalagmites, stalactites, and petrified waterfalls, formed over millions of years, create a uniquely magical atmosphere. A complete walking path is 1,060 m. long that goes through large caverns, bypassing underground rivers and even a lake. Visitors can extend their visit by taking optional 10 - minute - long boat trip. The constant temperature inside the cave is 14 degrees year-round.

Lunch.

Visiting Martvili Canyon. Our guests will visit the canyon and take a boat trip in its beautiful gorge.

Return to the hotel.
